🍃 Europe’s living standards are now 94% of America’s

Here’s what this stat actually reveals 👇

A new report by Thomas Damsgaard Tørsløv shows something surprising:

Europe may be growing slower on paper, but it’s thriving where it matters most.

Between 2009 and 2023, the EU’s GDP lagged behind the US.

But Europeans’ quality of life rose from 88% to 94% of American levels.

Why?

Because Europe is better at turning growth into well-being.

1. Longer life expectancy: Europeans now live around 4 years longer and enjoy 5 more years in good health.

2. Greater equality: Welfare gains are more evenly shared.

3. Less despair: Deaths from addiction and suicide have dropped while they’ve doubled in the US.

The lesson is clear.

GDP is a poor measure of progress.

It tells us how much we produce, not how well we live.

Real success isn’t faster growth.

It’s smarter growth, growth that improves lives, health, and balance.

That’s what Europe’s getting right.

And it’s what every business leader should think about, too.

👉 What do you think… what’s the most important indicator we should measure growth by?

Thank you Thomas Damsgaard Tørsløv for this insightful report.
